KB High Pull

The KB high pull is a great exercise to master and use when learning how to do a snatch.  To perform the exercise correctly see the video and description below.

  1. Prepare the body as if you are about to complete a one arm kettlebell swing.
  2. Move the kettlebell into the backswing, then instead of locking the movement at chest height, pull the bell up and back so the elbow pulls high and up past the ear.
  3. The kettlebell should move in an arc.  As the kettlebell nears the face, stop the backward motion, and push the bell back down the arc into the swing before repeating.
  4. This movement is similar to pulling the cord on a push mower.
